Before beginning full-time training at Crossfit Carroll, new participants will be required to take BASIC TRAINING SESSIONS.
IS THE BASIC TRAINING SESSIONS MANDATORY?
The Basic Training program is mandatory for all participants taking part in regular CrossFit classes. If you have currently completed a Basic Training program at another CrossFit gym, we will ask you to demonstrate the fundamental exercises, and if we feel you can perform them safely and effectively you may bypass the Basic Training.
If any of the below describes you, Basic Training is Mandatory:
You are just starting a fitness program after a long period of inactivity.
You exercise regularly, but have no previous CrossFit Experience.
You have previous CrossFit Experience, but have taken at least 6 months off.
You CrossFit on your own regularly, but you do so without a coach.
You want to gain a thorough understanding of CrossFit fundamentals.
What is BASIC TRAINING?
Basic Training is a program designed to systematically introduce you to CrossFit and prepare you for success in a CrossFit Carroll class. Basic Training is the BEST way you can get started at CrossFit Carroll.
CrossFit is more than a workout posted on a website. At CrossFit Carroll we have built a community of like-minded, hardworking individuals who believe in a system of short, intense, constantly varied exercises and its supporting nutritional beliefs. The exercises are full body, functional, and demand attention to form. Our focus will be first on perfect movement. We at CrossFit Carroll offer and expect positive communal support of each other.
When is the BASIC Training offered?
These Basic Training sessions are set up one on one with one of our certified CrossFit Trainers. Sessions are set up at your convenience when you and your coach is available.
The emphasis will always on skill development before intensity.
We will begin with the non-technical and get progressively more technical. Attendance is mandatory since each session will build on the sessions before it.
Basic Training sessions focus primarily on technique and mechanics. We do not expect members to master these skills or even remember what all of the functional movements are called in Basic Training. What we expect is you to gain a working understanding of each movement, and how to scale when necessary. It is our job through ongoing classes to perfect these movements and condition each athlete to reach their goals.
